The Family Reunion was a success, naturally, and I think everyone had a great time. I don't think anyone left hungry. We got caught up on everyone's family and met new additions as well. I'll put a couple pictures on the blog so you can see what a wonderful and beautiful group of people I came from. Dave and Sue went way beyond the call of duty and we all want to thank them for letting us use their house as our base. And Sue, you're a great cook and hostess!!

So, I hope we'll make this an annual affair, then, and we can keep tabs of the ones who went on a diet as soon as they got home and the ones that didn't.(was that ugly?)

The first picture is my daughter, Leigh Ann and husband Rick. She's having their first child in May!!! Then there's my son, Rusty, with an exotic praying mantis on his finger. More pictures

coming as I get them out of my camera.

Finally, some cool nights! This has been a l-o-n-g summer but I can feel winter comin' on. 3 months from now I'll remember this mornings post and think, "what a fool I was" wishing away all the warm days for all the cold ones. But that's how we are, that's life.
Work has has been going well and I stay busy most of the time. I thank God every morning for my good health and pray for all those people whose kidneys don't work anymore and have to spend 4 hours a day 3 days a week getting their blood washed. I've become aware of our many blessings that we take for granted, like healthy kidneys or good eyes and ears, things we never think about as a blessing. The patients, though, are grateful to have kidney machines so they can live a normal life the other 156 hours in their week.
Looks like I've waxed philosophical this morning. I'm sure that won't last long and I'll be back to my normal light-hearted and whimsical way.
Later.

Hi again, bet you thought Ed McMahan finally found me and gave me that giant check and I had taken off to my private island we all wish we had. Not. I've been so busy working and you know what? An 8 hour job sure takes a big chunk out of your day. Anyway, as usual, not a whole lot going on here, not that nothing never happens, just not recently. We had a great peach crop and this is a good example. And they were tasty! I also put up fig preserves and tomatoe sauce and butterbeans. Yum! Is bragging a sin?
I'm also looking forward to our family reunion in Oct. in Hendersonville. What a time we'll have! David has a big new deck on his house and he cooks a mean veggieburger! Ya'll come, now!
Later.

Hi guys, what a week! Busy and rewarding too. Thursday Duane and I drove to Dothan for my interview at Auto Zone (yes, they actually considered me). Then Friday afternoon Bobbi and Tom arrived for the weekend. We reconnected and ate a lot and generally had a good time. We even went to Walmart! I hated to see them go but that just makes the next visit worth looking forward to. They are a funny pair and have been for 31 years.
Also on friday I got a phone call from the Dialysis Clinic telling me that they picked me out of all the interviews to work for them!!! Yay!!! I had tried to not get my hopes up so now I canbreathe again. It seems like a nice place to work and the benefits and pay are excellant. I can only give the Praise and Thanks to God since I left it up to Him as to whether or not I got the job. I can only hope I don't let Him down. Thank you to you all for your prayers because you know how long I've been looking. This takes some of the burden off of Duane and he's heaving a sigh of relief (and not hiding it too well). So as you can see this has been a great week. More later.

I SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THIS YEARS AGO!!!!

Hello good people, (who, from Hendersonville, knows what commercial that came from?) what a beautiful day outside! Not to mention it's Sabbath, but the breeze is blowing and the sun is shining and does it get any better? I'd say not. I had a job interview this week and am praying that I will be the chosen one. I need the prayers of all my friends because I need to work. Just a little one line prayer is all I need and I thank you in advance.

See the baby over there? Thats Jill and she's my little orphan. She loves me at 5:30 every morning and at 5pm every night because I'm her surragate mother, me and 2 baby bottles. Her mother died when she was 3 weeks old and what a sad baby she was for 3 or 4 days after that. She didn't know where to go or what to do and just stood there and looked for her mama, it just broke my heart. But it didn't take long to figure out where the milk was coming from! What a sweetheart. Anyway, she's a chubby baby now.

Thats about all I have to offer. Hope you all have a great Sabbath and a wonderful weekend.

Did ya miss me? I had a defective modem and was offline for a week or 2 but Leigh Ann bailed me out with a working modem she mailed to me. What would I do without her?
It's finally starting to rain more and our big brown spot in the middle of the yard is now just a little brown spot in the middle of the yard and our weeds are growing like.......well, you know.
Of course this means that the grass in the cemetary is also growing which also means we have to mow more often which means more time in the sun risking our lives with the possibility of skin cancer, spending money on gas to run the mower and weedeater, and the list is endless. But at least we have a small income from all these risks we take to keep the Sandfield Cemetary one of the prettiest in Sandfield. Of course, it's the only cemetary in Sandfield...... So today we eat, drink and are merry for tomorrow WE MOW!!!!
For now, thats the highlights. More later.
